Royal Wedding

Okay, so I wasn't at all interested in getting up in the middle of the night to watch the Royal Wedding. Nor did I understand what the big fuss was about leading up to the wedding. However, my dog must have been really intrigued because he woke me up at 1:15 acting like he had to go out but didn't.

Since I was up and always watch tv to fall back asleep I figured there wouldn't be several options besides the coverage of the Royal Wedding. I was right. I settled on watching E!'s coverage because I like Gulianna and they were focusing on the fashion. I found myself becoming more and more interested.

Like I said, I didn't read/listen/watch any of the coverage leading up to the Royal Wedding so it was interesting to hear details of their time together and their families and again the fashion kept me watching as well (did you see all those fabulous hats).

So I watched for about an hour and a half. I saw the cars leaving the Clarence House and arriving at Westminster Abbey. (How awesome was the Rolls Royce Kate and her father rode in?) I was surprised that none of the cars had tinted windows, therefore very easy for all to see who was riding in the cars. I watched the guest mingle and the crowds outpour with excitement. At this point, I was hooked.

I had to see Kate's wedding dress, how she would wear her hair and do her make-up, etc. And once she made her way down the aisle, while of course I thought she looked gorgeous, I thought how happy they both looked and how it truly was a touching story. Thus, I am assuming, why everyone was so obsessed the last few months/weeks leading up to the wedding.

It seemed like both Prince William and Kate are down to earth and relateable. I suppose watching Prince William (and his brother) grow up in the public eye and seeing his and Kate's relationship over the years makes people feel like they can relate to them more. Plus, they seem to respect the fact that they are in the spotlight and look to acknowledge their fans.

I didn't stay awake much longer after they said their vows, but I thought they looked like a beautiful, happy couple. Which made me smile and think of how happy me and Mr. Pickle are (cheesy, I know)!
