So it looks like Weekend Reviews on Wednesday are becoming the norm!!

This past weekend we celebrated my friend's (and Big Sis in sorority) 30th birthday in South Lake Tahoe. We plotted against her and surprised her with a HUGE cabin (equipped with an indoor pool, spa, movie theatre room and pool table) in South Lake and 18 of her closest friends and family. She was surprised and we all had a great weekend.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I didn't get too many pictures of the weekend. Don't let that fact fool you, we had a blast!!

Friday night Mr. Pickle and I arrived at the cabin around 6:00. There were already about half the people at the cabin, so the party had already begun. After everyone had arrived, my friend's husband arranged for a catered dinner.

Birthday Girl

Once everyone's tummy's were full, the men decided to get a game of poker started while the girls went swimming in the pool. I decided I would put my feet in instead of getting all the way in, but as you can see below, that didn't work out as planned (the birthday girl got me in with my clothes on).

In the pool

Most of the boys decided to head to the casinos while we kept the party going in the pool. Then at 1:30 we got the bright idea to head to the casinos also!!

Us straight from the pool to the casinos

After some clubbing and gambling, we got home around 4:00 and headed to bed.

Saturday morning once everyone woke up, Mr. Pickle made breakfast. The day was a kick back day to recover from the night before and prepare for the upcoming night. Some went hiking, others went biking, a few even went to get a massage. I just hung around the house and took a two hour nap (I had a HUGE migraine).

Saturday night we went out to dinner and then headed to the casinos.

Saturday night ended earlier for Mr. Pickle and I than some of the others. Since I am not a big gambler, we left the casinos around 12:30. Mr. Pickle said when he woke up at 4:00 the party was still going!! We obviously can't hang like we used to.
Sunday morning we woke up early and headed home. While it was only raining when we left, we ended up running into snow!!

So pretty!!!!
We got home safe and even had a few hours to lounge around next to the fire and get some chores done.
A great weekend with some great friends!

Slacker

Since it has been busy around these parts, here is another Wednesday Weekend Review.
Friday after work Mr. Pickle and I went out to dinner and came home to carve our pumpkins. Too bad one of the pumpkins was already rotten, so we ended up both contributing to the carving of one pumpkin.
Pay no attention to the lazy dogs!!
The finished product.
A pumpkin and a spider.
The cutest spider I have ever seen.

Saturday we headed to Modesto to visit some friends and family. We spent some time with our niece before she went down for a nap, took a friend an early birthday gift, visited another friend and finally met their baby girl and celebrated a 30th birthday. Unfortunately the only picture I got of the day was the birthday celebration.
We had dinner at Surla. We all really enjoyed to food as well as the company.
Sunday Mr. Pickle and I headed to Napa. We stopped in Vallejo for breakfast, hit up some stores at the Napa Outlets and went wine tasting at St. Supery and Bell.
We have been members at Bell for years and were sad to hear that one of our favorite workers was working his last day before moving forward with another business opportunity. We spent a few hours hanging out with him and the person who is taking over for him. We were happy to spend his last day with him and wish him all the luck moving forward.
Sunday night was spent watching the Giants game and passing out candy to all the kiddies in the neighborhood.

Let's Hear It For The Boys

Last night our SF Giant won the World Series!!!! So exciting!

The following are some pics my sister took while joining the masses in celebrating in San Francisco last night.

Wish I was there to celebrate, looks like it was a wild time.

Way to go Giants!!

I Voted!!

I did my homework and informed myself with everything I needed to to vote and made it to the polls at 7:59 (they close at 8:00), they shut the door behind me.

It's Friday, I should be happy..

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer on a Friday afternoon, but I am going through some drama right now and it just makes me sad.

However, I am not going to let it spoil my Halloween weekend. I am excited to spend the weekend with friends and family and have a spooktacular weekend. Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!!

30 by 30 Thursday

First and foremost....How 'bout them Giants?!?!? Mr. Pickle was at the game last night with a co-worker (lucky bums) and said the experience was awesome! And what a win for the Giants!! Hoping for another win tonight!

No new updates really. Still running almost every day. I am trying to vary up the runs with different routes and adding some intervals (where I run as fast as possible and then walk for a few seconds). I actually burn the same, if not more, calories when running in intervals. I have heard this to be true, but guess I always figured the constant running was better. Me, stubborn, NO!

I read in a magazine that it is good to have a list of inspiration for the times you are not motivated to get moving/eat healthy.

The following is the start of my list:
- Other people's success stories - I love reading/hearing other's weight loss successes. I find it very motivating to hear how other people overcame their struggles.
- Fitness/Health related magazines - I feel like I am always reading similar articles, but yet I always feel that the constant reminder is inspiring.
- Friendly competition - I am very competitive, even if it is a friendly competition.
- Fitness/Health related blogs - I enjoy reading what others are doing as far as eating and exercise and love some of the tips and or recommendations I read about.
- Friends who are physically active and healthy eaters - They always know where I am coming from and offer advice. Plus, it is good to surround myself with them because I am more motivated to get moving and less likely to fall into temptation.
- Yoga - Something about paying attention to my inner voice for over an hour makes me feel refreshed and on track every week.

More than likely I will add to this list as I think of other things.

What things inspire you?
